Re: How to get my plugins to my new computer

I would reinstall, those that use an installer, all programs and plugins. You'll have to re-register your programs and plugins I think.

Some free plugin .dll files can just be copied.

If you make proper project folders with all needed sounds they can just be copied as well. I don't know how Ableton or FL Studio handles project folders.

When it comes to samples that are not included in your project folders you might have to re-direct your DAW to them again.

I've yet to migrate to a new PC but these seem like the logical things to do.

Re: How to get my plugins to my new computer

Neither Live or FL have 64-bit versions.

Install your 32-bit DAWs and plugins on new 64-bit computer, move projects to new computer's HD, done.

EDIT: huh yeah obviously you need to install everything from scratch

Yep. I just did this recently. I usually take the opportunity, to 'trim the fat' a bit.

Yes exactly, only install the ones you use all the time, skip the rest. It will often make your productions better. No one "needs" hundreds of plugs for producing good tracks.
