Re: hardware synth(techno/tech house)

Good cheap synth?

Virus A or B

Ms2000r

Blofeld

Nord Rack 1

I had the Ms2000r. Great synth but limited polyphony.

Your a Korg whore I remember back when I was getting involved in music, I thought to myself "An MS2000 would be incredible!" The R-is the racmounted version right?

Re: hardware synth(techno/tech house)

You are correct the r is rack mount. I've never had a synth with keys really, well a micron but I never got into it. I enjoy sequencing shit out as opposed to playing though.

I have had a few Korg products but I my favorite piece of gear is my Monomachine. I would love to be an Elektron whore but their shot is too pricy for me to have more than one piece.

One day though, after I get my Nird Rack 2, I'll start chipping away at the other Elektron boxes.

Ann a word of caution to the OP; if this is your first synth your about to be hooked.

Re: hardware synth(techno/tech house)

Can't go wrong with a JP-8000. Cheap as hell but can make some pretty neat sounds if you mess with it a lot. Really easy to tweak. There are some.....SOME sub menues but they are ridiculously easy to access.

I've seen for around $400 on eBay. If you don't like the plastic ness of it, you can spend an extra hundred and go for a JP-8080.

Re: hardware synth(techno/tech house)

Are you in the US? Just search Roland JP and you'll find several.

Re: hardware synth(techno/tech house)

I'm not really sure what you are saying in your post there but that's the Roland JP-8080 rack mounted synth. It has no keys so you play or sequence it via midi. If you want keys look for the Roland JP-8000.

Okay back to reality...

If I were in your shoes I'd forget all about the JP and nab this right here.

It can do anything under the sun and it's 16 part multitimbral.

Do it.
