[Industrial]Semmath-Only The Good Die Young

New material with a new direction As I say goodbye to the trusty laptop. It's only going to get weird from this point on.

Re: [Industrial]Semmath-Only The Good Die Young

I have a slight hangover and accidentally put this on too loud. I think my head is exploding. Volume down a bit. Thats better

Seems to really get it together around the 5 minute mark. The sounds and rhythms are good. Really has that 'glorious mess' feel to it, especially at the end.

Re: [Industrial]Semmath-Only The Good Die Young

so are you not using a computer at all anymore? do tell us about the new setup!

I like the fast skippy perc holding everything down while the synth sounds do battle...that riff that comes in around 4 min is fairly epic ;p. love where this ends up.

Man, I feel your pain, literally. I sometimes forget to turn my volume down a notch before I crash off to drunken sleepland only to wake up inside a metal fishbowl when I press play on something.

I'm still very much using computer based recording/production. I just ended up getting a much better machine for production, A 3.4GHz dual core, 4Gig O ram with dual 19" monitors. It's like producing for the first time all over again because I don't know what I'm going to do with myself having a damn workflow increase of 1,000% In addition, I'm incorporating the DX27 and currently looking for a 12 channel usb mixer as well as monitors and a condenser mic. I will be posting picks as I get it set up for total functionality. As for the trusty lappy I've got a copy of Ubuntu to load on it.

Thank you both for taking the time to check this out, It's been a few months since I've done anything musically So I may be a bit rusty but I feel the mix is pretty solid in that nothing overpowers anything else (A lesson learned from the very forum.) I thought to myself about mixing in some additional elements but psyched myself out because I didn't want to fall into the trap of overproducing it.

Ah man, totally banging. Love the pulsing drive that slowly evolves into consistency. Lovely, lovely sounds.

You humble me Mr. Steed. If I had it to do all over again, I would still regret nothing!

The DX27 is awesome despite the lack of knobs. I'm looking into getting a soundbank editor for the pc in order to reprogram it just because the sound library on it is really fucking good. I would absolutely use it in a live scenario. I was going to make mention earlier that my idea is to get into hardware now because I've the capacity to do so. And the electribe, MS2000r, random efx pedals and theramin are at the top of my to get list. I've got a decent income meow but I must still budget like a crazy person so I project that Laboratory X1 will be completed or at least where I see it ideally by September or October. So, This is the opportunity that I've been looking to achieve for years. It's almost surreal that its coming to fruition.

Re: [Industrial]Semmath-Only The Good Die Young

Yeah dude this is crazy man. I love when the beat comes in full force at roughly 2:45 or so and that synth that comes in at 3:50 or so is pretty ace too. Love the glitch work and the claps. I'm a sucker for claps though Jhon. Really good work here and stoked to see you're changing your set up.

Edit: Maye it's just a snare that sounds like a clap. Either way...

Re: [Industrial]Semmath-Only The Good Die Young

It's a 808 clap which was originally a cowbell but I wasn't particularly excited with the cb so I stuck it out with claps instead. To me it fit better with the hat sequence to form an almost danceable track. I am very eager to see how I approach sound design with the incorporation of hardware generating sound and using the DAW as primarily recording/editing. The feel of a real synth is a different animal entirely even compared to a MIDI controller.

Re: [Industrial]Semmath-Only The Good Die Young

Many thanks to you all for your continued support and encouragement throughout the last 4 years, It's absolutely amazing to know there is a niche base for the weird and obscure. I've developed great strides in production because of constant working and the academic advise that this forum has to offer. I love you all very much.
