FXpansion Geist - A all in one beat programming solution?

Today, by coincidence, i stumbled upon FXpansion Geist (Unfortunately Im not allowed to post links, yet), which is a sampling instrument, thats also capable of sampling, resampling, slicing, sequencing and arranging + it has effects and envelopes.

I would like to know, from those who have already used Geist, if this tool could be a real alternative to manually beat programming.

I make beats like this: For 'normal' beats, i just use a Simpler in Ableton. Used to work with NI Battery 3 before. For Glitchy IDM-ish beats, i take one track for each Sample (Kick, Snare, Hats etc) in Arrangement View and put them on their disired places manually. Then I glitch them either with the tools in Ableton or use Soundforge for further editing.

Could FXpansion Geist do all of that like a all in one solution? What do you think?

Btw, Geist is former Guru VST.

It looks like it does everything that Live can already do, according to the videos.

Would make sense if you worked in a DAW that doesnt really place emphasis on features like that, like say cubase but if you are using something like FL or Live its pretty redundant

Stick to Live.

I tried integrating Geist into my Live setup and while the standalone sounds great to use in it's own right, Live just couldn't map everything (essentially transient Threshold)

Also I couldn't figure out how to route the audio to the plugin within Live, so sampling became kind of redundant. I think this is a Live issue and not Geist as you can't route Audio to a MIDI track easily.

I just personally find that I can do everything faster and better within Live drum racks.
