Re: How do you backup your projects?

I used to do TONS of backups, but only of my DAW itself, not so much the projects. I try to work on a project until it is DONE, then I back it up to about 2 CD-ROMS and to a second hard drive, but only as the final tune for each storage format.

Keeping the DAW stable is a higher priority for me, and I do it in a way that preserves the sound-making capabilities and preferred sound sets-etc. That's kinda hard to explain but I'll try to remember how I did it and explain it later.

Last I remember, I used Clonezilla freeware, and Todo Backup.

all to the cloud, using crashplan.

restoring the back up takes a day.
a drive failure is such a rare occurrence that i'm okay with stepping off the computer for a day and letting that happen.

Re: How do you backup your projects?

First they are backed up to a large drive..then onto CD or DVD from there depending on size..once the drive is full then i get another drive...cant have enough back ups.

Re: How do you backup your projects?

Since I started this thread I have gotten an external Hard drive from a friend (1.5TB)... I still have the same back ups on DVD's but Now a main backup on my hard drive since i don't have a cloud i think this is the safest way to go....maybe i should get a safety deposit box for it lol
