No. Not even the active "studio" beats are that great. 200-300 dollars can get you much better.
Secondly, I have used a few really good monitoring flat response headphones. I can say the 280s and 380s by sennheiser are a solid bet.
as with any listening environment, it takes time to get used to in order to produce a good product. Make sure to expose yourself to many different types of mixes to understand where the frequencies ring a little more.
thirdly, it's important to get reference headphones as well. Get some higher end skull candies for bass reference and some avg quality sony and phillips for mid and high reference.
