Re: Question regarding FL Studio...

Could it be something to do with compressing too much/hard...or pushing things too loud (clipping/distorting)?
Could it be a matter of mixing and/or mastering?

I've been working with FL for some ten years. It depends on the clearness of your basis sounds and VSTs..

Example where I had shitty sounds and VSTs back in ~2007..

Then things got better due to basis sounds..

Try to make remixes where you have quality stems, then you'll see. Watch out for shitty bass sounds, they can easily mud everything up. Good luck, friend.

Also be sure to "open" your sounds with the Soundgoodizer.

Cocaine is WAY better than FL Studio...

@OP: As stated it has nothing to do with the DAW, its the user. You need to sharpen up your mixing skills. Its a matter of practice and experience.
