new PLAID

first electronic shit i ever listened to. a babysitter i had would bring over her boombox and blast Plaid, Bjork, Autechre, Lusine

my little boy self didn't know shit but it sounded good. she made me a couple mix tapes too, i was that cute. still am.

they've always been a happy medium between the ideals of Aphex Twin and the strange calculation of Autechre.

reachy prints was great too. i think this album is pretty tasty aswell, the adjusting of layers, textures and overall progression is always so satisfying with these two. .. heres some bits-

hard to find everything, still a new album, should be out and about though! there is an EP with standalone tracks too - same album cover art.

On 'Baby Step Giant Step' there's this perc sound, that sounds like vinyl crackles. Comes in right at the beginning; Amazing sound, no idea what it actually is^^

I appreciate Warp's efforts but not a big fan of the singles. Will Plaid ever get back to the peak of their glory days?

Their Glory Days where when they were part of Black Dog they were pioneers then, Virtual EP/Techno playtime EP/Black Dog EP etc. Its a shame they never released their scheduled album back then because of a fire at the pressing plant which destroyed the "Black Dog EP" mould and that is why that EP is rare, they had no money to sue at the time and the album never arrived,
They slowly declined after that.

I do like "Do Matter" i keep playing it at the moment.
