The Five Dollar/Five Album challenge

This could be a fun project challenge.

Go to a thrift store/yard sale (or any old store/place that sells used crap).

You can spend up to $5, and buy up to 5 albums.

Make a track using nothing but samples from those albums. The samples can be processed/assembled in any way.

I'm going to be heading up to some antique stores this weekend, so I'll give it a go.

Don't underestimate what you can find in your local charity shop if you're in there at the right time :hi:

If you live in Akron, Ohio you'll find a shitload of Engelbert Humperdinck all the time ;p

Pretty much all of my Meat Beat Manifesto vinyls came from second hand shops, though.

Sure my thrift shops will have both country and western selections.

Haha, if you are actually the real Skrillex, then release that shit on OWSLA asap, if not, well you should still remix "For You" :P

I am going to hit my local thrift shop, here in a few days actually, so I'll see what we have. I doubt we carry vinyl, but we of course have cd's.

Ya same man. I lived in Minerva as a kid, then moved to Salem. Moved to Marion last month actually. Not a bad town. Haven't really explored it a whole lot since I got here. I live 1 hour from Columbus, so I am excited to see what festivals, or shows they got around here.

Thrifty ideas are thrifty. I cannot help but think of thousands of random finds.
