DIY / Open Source / Hackable Synths

(Forgive me if there is a similar thread out there, I did not see one.)

I'll start off by saying that the Meeblip is my favorite toy at the moment([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]
). Great bang for your buck.

I'm interested in looking into more kits like this, but google searches haven't been too helpful (I don't really have any interest in an x0xbox). Have you guys come across any cool synth diy kits?

I'm a little curious about the Raspberry Pi synth ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]
), but I feel like it needs more work first.

(Sorry about the text links, I can't post real links yet)

Re: DIY / Open Source / Hackable Synths

I'm not at the studio right now, but there are a few things that I can think of that I've done before. I would do a google search of "drone machine" or just drone synths, there are plenty of diy guitar pedal synths, etc. drone machine I believe is the name off one, and I found other hits when checking out skychord sleepdrone
I'd also recommend searching the forum, and checking gear slutz and KVR as they have big diy forums too

Re: DIY / Open Source / Hackable Synths

Hi,

I've heard good things about the shruti. It's a nice synth with evolveresque specs for 140,- or so. Might want to check it out...

Cheers!

+1 on the Shruti, even Sound-on-sound had a great review.
Meeblip [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]
could be worth checking as well

I mention Meeblip in my OP, I love it.

I completely forgot about the Shruti, thanks guys!
Google searching Drone Machine brought up some interesting things. And I love me some drone.

I've also been looking at this project: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]

I've always wanted a ribbon controller.
