I know I'm a few years late to the party, but I'm just now discovering "witch-house" tracks that I really enjoy. I've tried finding some legit spots on the magical land of the internet to discuss it and swap tunes etc; the only semi-lucretive site being "witch-house.com". I believe their registration has been disabled, however, and it seems that forum is completely dead regardless(there have been like 3 posts total since December 2014).
Anyone know any noteworthy boards of like-minded individuals that are fairly active? If not, would anyone be down to start up a thread for it? (Not sure if this is the proper forum for it, but it has "house" in the name!). A quick search for "witch house" on the forum hasn't uncovered any such thread.
I'd love to find new tracks in the genre, and even some crossover stuff. My taste in it leans mostly toward the melodic side, with the ultra-weird stuff just confusing me in most cases.
From what I can gather from listening to it from time to time. it's such a hopscotch micro-genre, which draws from all over the show, from what sounds like Trip Hop and DarkWave to Dubstep and Industrial. So some i quite like, but a lot I find doesn't appeal at all.
Witch house seems like one of those a e s t h e t i c genres like vaporwave than encompasses way too many genres to be a real genre. With that said, I like whatever it is (or what I know of it) and IDMF is a good place for a revival of sorts. I actually think IDM is closer to witch house than it is to house itself, but that doesn't stop EDM from being a valid conversation topic around here.
Maybe OP will host the next witch house compilation? I'll be staying tuned, that's all I know.

I always kind of assumed it was a more goth/industrial ish mutation of the vaporwave idea too.
I've always gotten that out of it as well. Maybe having 'house' in the name just gave everyone the incentive to write it off as some kind of EDM spin off vs being the weirdo-electronic music that it is
Yea, I thought calling it 'house' was strange as well, I mean lot of it was 4 to the floor kick drum kinda deal if I remember, but not much else I recall was house-y about it.
edit: looking at the wikipedia article it seems the usage of the term 'house' in the genre name might be super literal ie; a witch's house, Witch House.
Vacuum cleaners are one of the most convenient appliances of our modern times. Without them, cleaning basic wall-to-wall carpeting would be nearly impossible. Older vacuums were heavy and expensive but newer technologies have enabled the creation of much lighter and more compact versions. The smaller vacuums are also less expensive than their older predecessors are, which makes it much easier for everyone to have a good one.
The Witch House a few years ago was dreamy mystic 4x4. (like Holy Others "Know Where")
Now most "Which House" music I find on YouTube is cheesy Trap-Pop. :/
