Fuck, thatís what I was hoping the MPC would do. Fuck the Cirklon, I want that box. Probably going to get rid of my MPC for this.

Re: The Hardware Thread

Not sure as sample editing might be easier on the Digitakt ot MPC Live but:
SIDECHAIN!

Sequencer (midi/cv), sampler, synthesizer (virtual analog and FM), massive amount of tracks, samples of any length as they stream from the SD card, can playback steams, timestretching, conditional triggers, per step automation, effects...

Go to 3:40 for arranger view, that sold me
Or 7:13 for how to use samples...

I don’t understand the interface, it looks confusing to me.
Also sample editing and managing must be awful without a screen.

Edit: what’s the deal with sidechain anyway? Why does everyone want that so badly?

If you were doing everything live off the machines/most using your computer as a multi track recorder it would be really nice to clean up the low end for one. Personally, I like like a little side chain pumping to get elements grooving together. In a DAW I try to use compression to do that most of the time but in hardware land it seems a pretty multi-faceted and useful feature.

Pretty cool, creepy track
And I totally get what side chain is about, but you must have mixed that in a DAW?
Thatís kinda my point, why does everyone expect the mpc to do everything?
Like all those dudes asking if they can mix and master in the mpc?
Or on elektronauts when I said that the octatrack was a real pain to track out, all everyone would say was along the lines of ď oh, itís fine to mix in the octatrack and track in stereoĒ
Screw that, I have 3 daws, I mix in them!

Sorry about the tangent, but yeah, some of the requests would be nice, but really this mpc can do a lot of cool stuff as is too. And side chain is like bottom of the list for me in terms of what I would like to see improved.

None of this is personal @[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]
.
End rant.

That was done all in Maschine, no daw involved.
That type of compression to me is part of sound design, not mixing, I need to have an idea of how that pump thing will sound when I write the loop, to fit stuff in. If Iím compressing for volume, then Iím fine with doing that at mixing stage.
As for why it should be on the MPC, well itís meant to be a Live tool, so it needs to do what you need in terms of sound, but also in 2018 there is no reason why a software daw should not have sidechain...

Re: The Hardware Thread

That does look impressive indeed! Seems alot of the elektron limitations are overcome here. Sidechain is possible on the digitakt since 1.08 (they added a really great compressor with selectable sidechain track) but i always battle with the 64 step length.
I do wonder, it has so many features, is it not plagued with bugs?

There's a whole thread on Elektronauts full of nothing but praises, seems odd.
