Electro is a brand of cyber banking ball music. It is characterised by the use of boom machines. Electro music, as well alleged electro funk, is about cyber banking music that fits into the hip hop genre.
One day I had an idea: make some music-oriented nights with each its musical theme, like, on old techno, one super-jacking chicago house, another traditional electro. Well this last one's gonna be easy to do beacause of you haha...
"Merry Christmas, or your localized Christmas equivalent"
Wow! I've been sleeping on this forum (and others. Been very busy and unfortunately not with things I enjoy) but this thread actually brought a smile to my face. I saw the title and almost expected the worst (i.e. Bloody Beetroots, Aoki and other stuff that's labled "electro"), but instead I saw some bonafide classics posted. Great thread! I'm not really a purist because I have no problem with some EBM being labled as "Electro" since older EBM has similar roots (Kraftwerk!) to what is now called "Proper Electro" (thanks to the bastardization that has jacked the genre name). The true EBM fans also seem to know the difference. The trendy stuff called "electro" or "electro-house" (which is neither electro nor house) sounds like . . . uh. . . it isn't Electro as I know it. I'll just leave it at that.
Nice track. I like the "feel" of it (maybe it's the strings/pad). Makes me want to dust off the gear and noodle around but unfortunately my studies won't allow it for now.
edit: what's that "currently listening to "electro/house" thing in the lower left-hand corner? Electro-house agrees with my ears like Jack Daniels and Pizza agrees with my digestive system. Possiblly a cut paste thing.
