Re: breakcore

I general find breakcore to be not very interesting.. but I do like xanopticon. He doesn't any break beats which saves his music from been monotone amen breaks with distortion.

I can't think of anything that hasn't been mentioned at the moment, but another vote for The Flashbulb. Amazing stuff. Also, Duran3X is wicked.

I know, lawl @ what I said, but I wasn't sure how to describe it to someone who probably hasn't heard much.

I mean, most of the breakcore I hear is pretty fast...

and he writes in fruity.. liminal space was done in fruity 3 ffs.

ryan is a genius.. same with benn jordan. i wouldn't class either as breakcore.. breakcore is just gabba with breakbeats, usually in odd time signatures.

that said, many artists who are known to be 'breakcore' artists produce interesting music often not aimed for a dancefloor.

breakcore is also very 2002 imo.

Re: breakcore

i love hardcore (like industrial techno orientated) but have really outgrown the hectic-fast-speedcore-breakbeaty shit so "breakcore" doesnt appeal to me at all. but i can recommend some idm-orientated midtempo (ie 140bpm-ish) hardcore like void settler, fucking marvellous stuff. check his myspace and listen to some of his stuff [Only registered and activated users can see links. Re: breakcore

void settler rocks indeed...
as for breakcore. I like a lot of it as long as the productions sound solid. some stuff just sounds like it was made in half an hour or so with little inspiration...

a favorite of mine is Datach'I

shock diamonds just amazes me as wel as

word, I found I got a lot more bored of it quicker than other genres. if you listen to it in small doses then it's great (or for me anyway).

Re: breakcore

^ that stuff is pretty sweet. But does anyone know how to go about making stuff like that (short of meticulously stringing together a thousand little samples)? Maybe coming up with a big picture and filling in the gaps as you go?

no, he's just called Rotator. it's sorta like VSnares but a little darker and more industrial.
