Modular software & programmingMaxMSP, Reaktor, Pure Data, Jeskola BUZZ, and other modular programs. Any questions relating to these programs (patching, favorite ensembles) should be posted in this forum.
althought his may be slightly directed towards msp, i have been reading this book lately which has some excellent guides on synthesis techniques, and it seems to be a lot better than other books that i have read.
one thing i found, along with a lot of other users, is that reaktor has no guides to dsp and synthesis techniques. this is a guide which thoroughly explores the use of digital signals, which is based around implimenting your ideas using modular software. the examples are for pd, but it gives the reader an idea of techniques to use, and once they have learnt about alot of the objects in reaktor, they can impliment the ideas and processes that are explained in this document as excercises in their reaktor programming skills.
Can anyone tell me comprehensively whether or not you can send MIDI data out of Reaktor to hardware synths?
If so how do you do it and has anyone seen any interesting instruments?
My Nord is getting pretty jealous of the amount of time i`m spending in front of my laptop.
yea, at the top of the instrument panel, there's 2 drop-down menus for midi connections to exterrnal gear. these will work only if your machine has proper midi implementation built in (all the factory ensembles do)

Yeah i tried that already and it didn`t work...?
That`s why i was asking.
My machine has no problem with MIDI in other programmes though...?
Also, does anyone use OSC at all?
I`d like to get my Kenton controller in on the action, but i`m not sure where to start?
for external midi in reaktor, you should set that up under the preferences, not the two drop downs, those guys are for internal midi connections. or so my understanding of it is.
as for osc, i've never tried it, but i hear it's not so pretty. max/msp is suppose to be better, but like i said, i don't really know.
to put a link in here, i wrote a tutorial focusing on the event table for reaktor about a year ago. i wrote it for people just learning to build. if your in this class, i would recommend reading it. many have found it useful. it's about 35 pages with about 100 pics to get you moving along.
you can get that from the posts in the NI forum. cList had hosted all the versons on his site and links right to them. no password needed. i guess you ask this because you don't have a legal copy of reaktor............
that beatlookup ensemble taught me sooooooooooo much, I very highly reccomend any reaktor user to sit down with it, and discover how the entire thing works. cList has taken many shortcuts which can be confusing, but once you work out what is happening in a certain process, its like discovering the next stage of an RPG!
Here is the old thread that tracks the progression of the patch. It is seriously worth comitting yourself to doing if you want to get into sample mangling using reaktor. it is quite long winded, but once your in to it, the possibilities are endless!
Does anyone know why the new ensemble massiv to reaktor 5 is out of sync with the beat clock??
and how can i get it running in sync-in protools that is?
cheers

this is a simple fix, but it's a little hard to explain without pictures. the problem is with that song position module and how it resets. kid sputnik has a fix build for it that you can get from the user library, and there is a link here [Only registered and activated users can see links. Hi guys, I'm new here and working with reaktor and max/msp. I was just wondering if anyone around here has reverse-engineered the Tim Exile, Keymasher demo .ens ? I've made a bit of a start, but if someone else has already done it, it'll save me a lot of work
Do a search for Tim Exile in the Building With Reaktor sub forum....
Can I, with Reaktor, play 2 or more samplers on live at the same time controlling the volumes and another parametres like effects etc...?
Example:
With the micro, i want to record (on live) a voice and when i finish this voice, start to record another voice mixing the firt voice too. In this moment (when 2 voices playing at the same time) i want to introduce effects in each voice.
