I randomly got into ambient music a bit this week, and I'm looking for some suggestions as to what other ambient artists I should listen to. Here are some of the ones I like now, though really they may not be considered ambient.
Bluetech
Evan Marc
Boards of Canada
and really thats all I know... I mean, I've heard a lot of ambient tracks, but those are really the only few I got into so far. I suppose I lean more towards IDM styled ambient, space ambient, and psychedelic ambient music but all types I'd like to know about Thanks
To get you started with the more spacey ambient I reccomend...
Dreamfish
Zenith
2350 Broadway
Ambient Otaku
Electro Harmonix
Ariel Service Area
Psychonavigation
Outland
and a little more upbeat...
Fires of Ork
S.H.A.D.O
Dataside 2
Waiting for Snow
IF
Octopus
I wouldn't bother hunting down the FAX originals as they were only printed in 500-1000 copies each and fetch big money on ebay but the side label Ambient Word have done a few re-releases. You can get FAX on iTunes but eMusic is a good place to get them much cheaper.
The Fax label has some of the best electronic music by the worlds best artists and I'm amazed I missed this stuff back in the day but with such a limited run of each album it's not hard to see why, hurrah for the internet! :2gunsfiring_v1:
Also chack out FSOL's Lifeorms, UFOrb, Biosphere, KLF Chillout and of course the dude who started it all Brian Eno (Apollo, Ambient 4).

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 1 and 2 (can't believe no one has said this yet, unless I missed it)
Brian Eno - all of his "music for..." stuff (music for airports, music for films, ect), as well as Another Green World.
Tangerine Dream (kind of)
