[TECH] POLAR - TELESCREEN

Hey all, thanks for having a look.

Here's a new track I'm working on.

All thoughts and comments are very much welcomed and appreciated. I'm at the stage now where I've listened to it so many times in production I need a fresh ear's take!

Re: [TECH] POLAR - TELESCREEN

Really great style here. Good melodic work and rhythmic too.

I think the Kick could use some weigt (bottom end) at least in the main sections where I also would make it a little less dominant.

But very nice track overall

Cheers

The 1984 vocals are dope (if I'm not mistaken)! And I really dig the funky synths in the beginning! I'd extend the second drop!

You are not mistaken Yeah found a great audio script of it on archive.org so just chopped it up and tried to make it cohesive in some way.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and feedback! Great to get another ear's opinion

Re: [TECH] POLAR - TELESCREEN

I'm lovin the dark vibes going on. Only thing I'd suggest is maybe cutting some of the outro and extending the second drop. The ending kind of hangs around for a bit too long.
Other than that, loving it so far.

HAhaaaaa!! I love that sample!! Awesome digging to find that :0... :badger:

The kick is a little hi ended and prominent for me... but I think that's personal preference - your choice - though i think it can detract from the other higher frequency elements at time.
Nice style man

Cheers man, much appreciated! Yeah think I'm gonna build on that second drop a bit and give it some real legs!

Listening back I agree, kick does have too much high-end, gonna go back and have a look at pulling that back a bit and beefing up the snares/claps.

Thanks for taking the time to listen, appreciate the feedback!

Welcome mate... I think it's just a matter of preference really RyanBru...What you want the listeners main focus to be on.... It may well sit better in the mix at a little lower volume, that high end just helps/makes it stand out - which I think is a good in the break you have between 2:04 to 2:33. I really like that part

Suppose put it on ice for a few weeks mate and judge on your first listen back at it!

(Boring point - If sending this anywhere you may need sample clearance for that vocal??)

I enjoyed the track, very nice melody, I like that detune delay.

Yeah I see where you're coming from!

Might have to have a look into the sample, it was just on archive.org so I assumed it was public domain, but to be honest I don't really know much about how any of that stuff works!

Feels like I'm at a space bar or something. Really evocative soundscapes here! I love these 80's esque tracks you guys post on here! Good job. Can't think of any criticisms

Loving the fact you've put my favourite book into your track! The shouting of "pig" is somewhat overwhelming though agree with the comments below; i feel like you're taking me on a voyage through space. Good work!
