ok, so basically the concept is that you interview another member and upload it for our pleasure at our leisure (couldnt pass that sentence up)
there are a few members atm that are releasing/have just released EPs/albums and i think it would be cool to do 5 - 10 minute interviews to get some insight into their work and their inspirations e.t.c ....it's on you to be creative with it!
interviews can be in audio format or text format.
if it is an audio interview feel free to upload it to your own soundcloud as well and post it here so that it can be listened to but please make sure it finds its way to the blog to ensure that it will stay around for as long as possible
IF you have a desire to be interviewed feel free to let us know by saying so in this thread
happy dayssssss

How about some people like me are more comfortable typing than speaking? :V
Then again the only things I actually tend to release any more are the worst sounding things I can possibly make, so who'd even want to interview me... :3c

id say i was definitely in the same boat... man up i suppose is the only thing i can say
you are in quite a unique position in that you are friends and live relatively close to proton42... maybe you could do a video. if you dont want to be visible you can work around that.
meh, I don't mind being recorded or on camera or anything like that, I'm just more comfortable typing than speaking most of the time. also I guess it's a factor that my internet sucks for voice/video chat. x3
Also it's looking unlikely I'm gonna see Broton again before I move across the country. :V
well that is bad times... i hope your move is works out for you though
maybe this will take me taking the first plunge. Ben Steed has just dropped an EP/lp/album/music novel and i live kinda close to him so i'll see if we can get one done soon. tying that man down is hard though!!
What I also quite like on another forum is they have a guest artist (in this case we'd have an IDMF forum member) and everyone gets to ask questions about their production, workflow etc. After about 3 pages the thread gets closed and that's it. Builds up a nice archive of experience that people can tap into. But however it's done - I think it's a good idea, and would also prefer to see it in a written format. By writing it also allows for the answers to be a more thought out.
And yeah I get what you're saying about the interview accompanying a release of sorts. It's cool to listen to an album and then find out what went into it. Again - this is where opening the floor to IDMF members for questions allows people to satisfy their curiosity rather than hoping the interviewer asks that specific question.
OT because this thread is active.. random question from the outfield. If you guys had an opportunity to buy a nord rack1(expanded with 12 voices) for cheap would you?
I can't justify it with my status with production but its a great opportunity and they havn't been in production for 10 years(came out in 96). Not to mention I love the sound.

Thanks FunkMaster and Mischjok, it will be an honour and I won't surely say no, but I must say that there are much better artists here on IDMf; we have the guy from Telefon Tel Aviv, Keef Baker, Candlenine, Evelon whose band was touring with Misfits, Sinae-fucking-cide and plenty more I can't remember or I don't know about.
Also, it would be great to make this a sort-of official IDMf feature, maybe call it something like "IDMf talk" and have a small logo at the opening, even though there will be different "hosts".
I think this is a great idea! Initially, I joined this forum to learn from great artists/producers like you guys and to be able to sit in a "virtual classroom" learning from people around the world sounds pretty cool to me...technically, I don't know anyone who doesn't have an accent of some form.

the thing about the interviews in writing is that this thread will get incredibly messy and they will get lost under questions about how to rewire reason into ableton lol
i suppose i could make a tumblr to put the written ones on but then it starts getting very complicated, having to ask benwaa if it can be official or if it HAS to be official. if it does then it stays complicated. with audio interviews the soundcloud would keep them nice and in chronological order to just browse through at your leisure, also the account can be private to this forum..... it doesnt have to be official.
