I'm from Melbourne. I love DnB! I listen to it a lot, and go see some of the my favorites when they come down under. As far as Melbourne goes, two other cities in the area are a bit better for DnB, mainly Perth, and over in New Zealand in Auckland. I don't write any DnB (producing at that tempo has always felt difficult to me for some reason). Some of my favorite acts are Noisia, Culprate, BSE, Alix Perex, Calyx & Teebee. I'm kinda a 2000's neuro era bod.
hey rinseit, welcome in! cool to have another d'n'b head around here.
I'm from Paris. There's one venue here that has regular d'n'b nights but since I'm a music snob with very restricted tastes, I've been mainly disappointed by the style they promote.
I hail from California, USA. one of my fav genres I pretty much love it more than dubstep/glitch hop/moombahcore~
I can love anything from "Electrostep" to Breakcore (whether it sounds more like Hardcore Techno or DnB) to Darkstep to *sometimes* Drumstep to Jazzstep to Jump-Up to Liquid Funk to Neurofunk to Ragga DnB to Sambass to Techstep~
my faves being btwn Jazzstep/Liquid and Jump-Up and Neurofunk/Techstep! Ragga DnB I like occasionally -- it can be fun to listen to~ much like Sambass~
if it wasn't DnB I'd be listening to Hardcore genres (UKH/Happy Hardcore, Gabber, Hardstyle, Hard Dance, Hard House, Hard Trance, Scouse House, etc). lol
Sheffield, England. Love more breaks based D'n'b, but also into more brutal digital sounding stuff like Noisia and Black Sun Empire. I also love good emceeing over jungle tracks, but there seems to be less of that about now.
I'm in the Kansas City suburbs right now.... I also am kind of burned out on DNB.... 20 years ago, it seemed like it was doing musically what hiphop was doing lyrically - namely re-introducing art/complexity/elegance into mainstream pop... it's sad to see it in its current straight-jacketed mainstream form. If any of you can tell me where I can find stuff that goes beyond recycling Venetian Snares sound.... would very much appreciate the knowledge...
