Which BoC album as my first to listen to?

So I'm somewhat of a philistine these days with what I listen to in electronic music. I kind of missed the BoC boat, but from the few songs I have heard I think I would dig them. Recommendations on a first album to get? I was hoping to download it at work today to listen to on the way home. Also, recommendations on the best place to get it from? I kind of hate Amazon and iTunes.

Music Has The Right To Children, followed up by Geogaddi. both immense albums.

Thanks, man. I was reading a thread from 4 years ago in which you replied basically the same thing. From the consensus there I think I'll have to go with Music Has the Right to Children unless anyone else responds in the next hour or so. Gotta get that album downloaded and disc burnt for the ride home (I know, I'm some late 90's with my CDRs...).

Re: Which BoC album as my first to listen to?

Yea. I did end up starting with Music has the Right.

At first I have to admit I was kind alike...alright...I don't see what the big deal is...but I've probably listened to the album a good 6+ times on the way to and from work and the last couple listens I've done a double take...like..."what the hell, I never heard this song before..." then realize I had heard it before but there was a little layer I missed. Rather enjoying it : ) Probably going to pick up another one after I pay bills this month.

Re: Which BoC album as my first to listen to?

My first was "The Campfire Headcase". I actually like it. No idea why people here don't seem to. I also have their latest album and got myself Geogaddi this morning (still have to listen) as a lot of you people have suggested it here... Maybe I'll understand after listening to it.

Trans Canada Highway: " Dayvan highway" is very interesting song. Good for those days when analog is all you want. Ironically, I have listened to this album many times driving on the Trans Canada Highway.

Re: Which BoC album as my first to listen to?

I've decided to just go through them in order. I like the bulk of Geogaddi, had it a while, but there are some of the sorter tracks on there that I just don't get, lol. Over all I do like it better than Children, though.

The campfire headphase or tomorrow's harvest are probably their most accessible, but they're all good. You'd probably be happy with any of them.

The early cassette releases? As cool as they are, it's probably better to start at Children and work back/forward. Beautiful Place Out in the Country is a great EP

My first was Music Has The Right to Children. Then Geogaddi, then Twoism. I'd start with Twoism and work up from there. You definitely won't be disappointed.
