As cheap hardware goes, I initially invested in three of the volcas over a few months, and later bought a microkorg at a junk shop for 150usd and in great condition might I add.

Re: Who here uses cheap gear to produce their music?

For everything but studio mics, monitors, and headphones I pretty much avoid anything expensive or trendy or hyped; especially software/instruments. Chances are everyone else uses those and so I'll opt for the more obscure stuff...even freebie synths/plugins can sound amazing with diligence...

What do people here think of Audiatechnicas? My friend from the hip hop side of town recommends them for me (even the cheap ones)

Would love to hear an educated opinion

Re: Who here uses cheap gear to produce their music?

All I know is that since I got my Beats By Dre, my music's never sounded so great nor have I been so motivated. I feel like there's a little mote of Straight Outta Compton in every one of my tracks now due to the association.
