Re: (Industrial, Electornic, Rock) Ephraim - Ovid
This makes for a really lovely rainy-day soundscape. The rain sounds in the background give it a kind of urban (noir?) vibe. I love the clicky, percussive sounds that almost seem to not sync up entirely with the rest of the beat as well. The guitar playing is killer, although it seems almost dry against everything else, or like it deserves to be soaked in reverb and soar above everything else a little more.
The only dull part is the drums - although the kit itself seems to have some awesome dynmics, the lack of fills and frills makes it sound like some kind of stock kit was mashed up against a track that was otherwise handled with diligent care. It seems to stay stagnant the entire time, as if it's on a loop and I(MO) hinders the entire track. The few layers that do come in to back up the kit were done well, however the base of the beat is rendered seemingly unchanged through it all.
All in all, I definitely dig it, but some changes in the beat would definitely keep up with how interesting the rest of the track is!
