Re: Pete Namlook Tribute Compilation (Carpe Sonum Records)

This was posted on the Pete Namlook Facebook Page.

We now have 34 alumni tracks (with at least 3 more expected) and 42 fan tracks. You can figure a minimum of 76 tracks, most of which are unreleased, some of which have been composed especially for Die Welt ist Klang. I have raised the price to $40 for the digital download and $85 for the 8-CDs in custom wooden box. If you paid before the price increase, we will collect the balance later. No need to pay more now.

The fundraising goal will be the minimum needed to fund the physical release: Pressing all 8 discs, and paying for the custom wooden boxes (mastering of all 8 discs has been paid for, and 2 discs are already completed).

For those of you who know me and are willing to pre-order through EAR/Rational, rather than PledgeMusic, please do so below.

The benefit to pre-ordering through EAR/Rational is that PledgeMusic takes a 15% cut (I don't begrudge them that, but it's something that has to considered when fundraising), whereas PayPal/credit cards take a 2.5% cut. And any pre-orders which come in through EAR/Rational will allow me to reduce the PledgeMusic goal accordingly.

Folks who are hesitant to pre-order through EAR/Rational should wait for the PledgeMusic campaign (I will post the link once it’s live).

Here is the pre-ordering link:

Re: Pete Namlook Tribute Compilation (Carpe Sonum Records)

This was just posted on the Pete Namlook facebook page today. I thought I'd share:

I just set up a Bandcamp pre-order for Die Welt ist Klang. (Thanks to Oliver Naujoks for suggesting this...I thought I had to have all the tracks uploaded before I could set up a Bandcamp release.)

If you pre-order from Bandcamp you'll get an immediate download of the first 2 CDs (19 alumni tracks), and once the entire release is on Bandcamp, they will send you a download link for the rest of the tracks.

Re: Pete Namlook Tribute Compilation (Carpe Sonum Records)

Another small ordering update posted on the Pete Namlook Facebook page:

Die Welt ist Klang is now available as a physical (8-CD) pre-order on Bandcamp at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]
.

Remember that Bandcamp takes a 10% cut, so if you're comfortable pre-ordering direct from me, that 10% would go towards the project.

Also note that on Bandcamp there was only one shipping choice per region, so the U.S. shipping on Bandcamp is $12.50 for Priority Mail. If you want $5 Media Mail shipping, you have to choose that at my site above.

Re: Pete Namlook Tribute Compilation (Carpe Sonum Records)

Here's couple of updates from the Pete Namlook Facebook page:

Status of the 8-CD boxed set: Disc 2 has been pressed, Disc 5 is almost done, and Disc 6 is starting tomorrow. Others will follow as soon as possible, but we're obviously a ways off in terms of shipping it. I am working on the text for the booklet this weekend. I had hamstring surgery yesterday which went well, but I'm house-bound for a while, so it's a good time to catch up on writing and other tasks.

The mastering is almost done, but I'm having the engineer focus on all of the tracks, rather than burning master CDs for the pressing plant because I want the digital release on Bandcamp to be live (i.e., not a pre-order) as soon as possible. Once live, Bandcamp will feature it on their homepage, and I also know that some (hopefully many) folks are waiting until it's all done to order. We still need to pay for the wooden boxes and more orders are needed to do it.

I will post updates regularly, and I will also send a mass email to all who pre-ordered the CD box (both on Bandcamp and from the EAR/Rational site).

Thanks for your patience. No one is more eager to hold the finished box in his hand than me!

Also posted:

We now have 47 alumni tracks, and once the digital release is live on Bandcamp (i.e., when the remaining tracks are mastered) I'm going to raise the price of Die Welt ist Klang to $47 (for new sales, not for folks who pre-ordered). Remember that you are also getting 44 great fan tracks, for a total of 91 tracks. But even if you completely ignore the fan tracks (a mistake if you ask me, but your prerogative), $47 is a fair price to pay for 47 alumni tracks, more than half of which are unreleased or written specifically for Die Welt ist Klang, when you consider that proceeds are going to Namlook's family.
