Hows about we do an IDMF netlabel Amen Break compilation? Everyone takes the same 12 measures or whatever and constructs a tune out of the iconic break.
I run all my comp projects in the community projects subforum, but I don't think people are too hung up on which subforum we use. Probably host a wav of a good version so we all use the same thing?
Are you taking about keeping this in one genre or can we break out into any style / genre we like? (Excuse the shite pun.) Genre shouldn't really matter, as it's the loop that's important, right?
And, yeah..OB's right about posting over there..maybe start a new thread there and put a redirect link here pointing the way?

Ditto, this gives me a reason to try and work on tracks as fast as I can while maintaining quality and broadening my horizons. Bonus: chance at (IDMf) fame and fortune!

i would be up for this, but realistically i would start and find myself overrun with work and other bullshit and not have time to actually complete something.
i do love the idea though, who doesnt love a good amen
dude just create a thread asking for submissions then be sure to follow through and reward the producers who deserve the recognition with a sleek release you all can circle jerk to.
you build it they come etc.
what i'm saying is, fuck this type of "anyone in?" thread, it smells like you're letting your dreams be dreams.

Basically we are doing this. Make a tune, submit it here in the thread when finished. The only real rule is to use the amen break to make music. I think it goes w/o saying that if you submit something shoddy we will all ridicule your failure as a human being (but seriously, your best music please). If'/when there is enough interest/quality we will consider doing something more.
That is all. Go create. I'm sure you all can find a copy of the amen break on your own?
I'll post it here.
