"Danceable" IDM

Might be a bit of an oxymoron but you know what I mean. I like IDM, although its usually not very "make your booty groovy" type stuff. I was looking for something I could actually move to, while still being considered "IDM" whatever the hell that is.

Here's an example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5pUFn7jud0

I thank anyone in advance for their help.

Re: "Danceable" IDM

I understand your intention although I think most of the glitchy drill'n'bass/IDM is danceable - but in a weird way. So I'm not absolutely sure of "how far" you're ready to stretch the danceable limits

this album's really cool, glitchy, and has steady rhythms. Aoki Takamasa's Rhythm Variations

Bogdan Raczynski's Samurai Math Beats has cool straight-forward rhythms, and some cut-up breakbeats too

Lusine ICL has very danceable IDM in his first efforts (Serial Hodgepodge has three of four tracks I would recommend)

I would really recommend Hecq's Bad Karma, too.

I was going to come in and say Lusine is as groovy as it gets but we already have tons of that stuff in a chill thread somewhere. Also tons of danceable stuff in the whacky breakcore thread. :3

Coming out of hiding to give this thread a bump... Finally playing a show where this would be appropriate.

Re: "Danceable" IDM

hey Corbin

more or less danceable was this ode to 90's idm by konstantin klem

https://abstraktreflections.bandcamp.com/album/steps

this track, which was famously played by aphex twin at some idm festival in texas

https://rolandosimmons.bandcamp.com/album/yuore-life

probably a lot from this album could fit amid more classic club tracks. It's from last year, less idm than experimental techno

I'll come back with a few more later if you're interested

in that case

from album:
https://livitysound.bandcamp.com/alb...-sound-remixes

also, Objekt's style is close to something like house, but the edits are very idm

and then

http://lobstertheremin.com/album/don...ere-are-snakes

... now that I think about it none of those are similar to Primary Node.. but I think they're pretty cool anyway
