Any issues using 32bit Ableton Live 8 with 64bit OS?

I am about to buy a 64bit windows 8 laptop but I want to be sure that my 32bit Live 8 and all my plugins will run well on a 64bit system. Does anybody have any experience or insight on this? Ableton claims their are no problems, except that you can't use 64bit plugins on a 32bit system. That one limitation is no big deal.

I just don't want any big surprises

I've been running 32bit FL Studio...at least since 9 now we are on 11...on Windows 7 64bit. No problems at all. I know it's not Ableton, but I run tons of 32bit programs on my 64bit OS.

Nope, even stranger is, the problems begin with x64 ableton on a x64 os If you use the x86 ableton on x64 windows, everything works fine.

+1. Haven't had a single crash in 64-bit Win8 running 32-bit Live. It's actually more stable than Win7 32-bit was.

Yeah same here... Using Live 9 32bit now but while I was using Live 8 I also never had a problem.

update: extremely happy with both windows 8 and how well Ableton works with it. Amazingly fast. 15 second start ups and even shorter shut downs. This thing is a beast.

Re: Any issues using 32bit Ableton Live 8 with 64bit OS?

The only problem is running out of RAM on 32bit because you can only use 4gb's of RAM...
Ableton really needs to make 32bit plugins work in 64bit without the need for buying a external program just to do so..
