I was always more of a Nick Drake kinda person whenever I was down. Beck's Sea Change was also pretty useful to me for a while. I even learned some of the songs on guitar and performed one of them with friends at a show once
Sorry..don't know how I left this one out..one that has been with me throughout my life and still sounds as fresh to me today as it did when I first heard it. The times I've cried / laughed / pondered into a glass or sat gazing down at the glowing end of a spliff with this playing in the background, are too many to count I guess.

Fatboy Slim was always a go to for me when I was in high school, and still is today, whenever I felt down. Instant feel good for me. Helped me get through some dark places. I'd likely be a very different person if it wasn't for Fatboy Slim, he also probably inspired my entire love for electronic music.
