Re: Logic Pro or Fl studio?

They are both equally powerful. Depends on what you're used to as well (tracking, synthesis, waveform manipulation, live instrumentation, etc).

If you're just starting out, I would go for FL studio, it's super easy to just import the VST you have into it, there are tons of tutorials on it because of it's popularity, definitely the better option for beginners.

I would honestly recommend getting both though, heh. That way if you don't like one, you always have the other one to fall back on.

Re: Logic Pro or Fl studio?

It depends on your actual workflow. If you are a Pro on Fruity Loops you will find Logic quite frustrating. FL Studio is a great program and it is always getting closer and closer to a traditional DAW. Logic is more a traditional DAW.

If you learn many DAWs you will end up using all of them for very specific tasks, you will end up using whatever makes your workflow faster.

Also check Reaper y Ableton Live

Re: Logic Pro or FL Studio?

yeah...if you're asking "what's better" you're in for a world of frustration. that's just a silly question.
it sounds like you're starting out, I'd go with FL.

Re: Logic Pro or FL Studio?

As I told you in another thread, FL won't work perfectly on Mac.
If you want FL so badly, stick to Windows.
Otherwise go for something that is fully supported on Mac.

Re: Logic Pro or FL Studio?

I always found Logic's name ironic as it's the most frustrating DAW I've ever worked with. I've helped a few friends learn production basics on several DAWs. After using FL Studio for years, Logic was the only one I found I couldn't jump right into.

Personally, I'd look into Ableton if you are going to be working on Mac.

FWIW I've never understood the using multiple DAWs thing.

Different DAWs have different techniques, sometimes entirely different functions. A lot of DAWs can be midi-sync'd together and I'm pretty sure some environments such as max/MSP go even further than that, automating the mechanical. In my opinion, it's no different than having a room in your house full of different instruments you enjoy playing.

Re: Logic Pro or FL Studio?

I find that Logic has a slightly better sound quality to it, but this may be due to everybody i know that uses FL are using shitty PC's with asio drivers. Logic does have a crazy learning curve, but all it takes is a little time with it.

Please dont start this shit about sound quality. Its not even worth bringing up as its total bs. I highly doubt asio even has anything to do with it. Though personally I dont use asio on my PC.

logic is just a toy for noobz.

fl studio is PRO it comes with a limiter on the master channel so you already sound like aviici without having to do anythign.

Re: Logic Pro or FL Studio?

All DAWs excel for certain things, comparing them like this is like comparing apples to grapes. It all depends on the person, some people work better in fl, and some find logic more comfortable. It all depends on what you're style is and what sound you're trying to accomplish. In my opinion logic's compression is amazing, and the reverbs, delays, filters, and EQ are pretty quality and in depth. If you prefer mixing in fl, then bouncing these effects from logic into fl can be a powerful combination. Just my 2 cents. cheers !
