getting DAW quality online?

My uploaded songs sound chit quality compared to listening in fruity loops.

I uploaded in the wav format which is the highest quality i think?

like 30gb per song or whatever depending song content..

thats just a normal loss via uploading?

what about when you put .wav on CD its same quality as in FLS or not?

Re: getting DAW quality online?

The side room is not the place for this kind of questions, please start your thread in the appropriate subforum next time, keeps it organized for everyone on here.

Songs that are being streamed (like on SoundCloud for instance) will practically never be in .wav, for the simple reason that it requires too much bandwidth. SoundCloud for instance streams at 128 kbps mp3. The loss in quality doesn't happen because you upload it, but because SoundCloud re-encodes your file as an mp3 to allow lighter streaming.
If you want your listeners to have the highest quality possible you should offer them downloads of uncompressed files, so .wav or .flac for instance. While uncompressed file types will have the highest quality, high quality compressed files, like 320 kbps mp3, are good too: not a lot of people will notice the loss in quality and it's a lot smaller in size.

If you put a .wav on a CD it will be almost the same quality as playback in FL Studio. The only difference is the bit depth (and perhaps the sample rate too): CD quality is 16 bit, playback is 24 or 32 bit. A higher bit depth allows a wider dynamic range, a bigger difference between the loudest and the softest sound possible.
The extra bit depth isn't necessary in a finished track though: a higher bit depth is great for recording and processing audio, but isn't necessary for listening to a finished track as there is less dynamics.

No, Bandcamp also streams 128-mp3.
They force you to upload .wav's to allow them to offer more file types. If they get the highest quality possible (an uncompressed file type like .wav) they can re-encode that to every file type a listener wants (so both uncompressed, like .wav and .flac, as well as compressed, like .mp3). If you upload a lower quality file, like .mp3, they wouldn't be able to re-encode it to a high quality file, like .wav.
They have explained this a bit here.
