I find it comforting to know that in recent months, Mozilla quietly integrated native FLAC playback support into FireFox web browser.

This really helps ensure that FLACs will continue to be a viable lossless format.

You can embed tags (title, bpm, artist, album, track, etc) and album artwork and keep full bandwidth CD quality audio or greater. There are already portable media players that can play FLAC too, notably the SanDisk brand Clip Sport or whatnot.

Times are still good for audio!

Firefox has taken a dive in popularity, though. Can't remember exactly why but I stopped using it some years back.

if you dont like the "pocket" or just about any other feature, it can be disabled in about:config ...and there's tons of freeware addons at https://addons.mozilla.org

firefox has gotten more stable in recent years.
and there's so many cool addons these day.

each browser tends to have it's pros and cons in my honest opinion.
anyways, i'm not pushing firefox on ya, man, but i do like it.

i have found it to have the most customizeability than all others and that means that i can set it up more like how i prefer, including speed tweaks.
but it does take some time to install and configure.

Re: FireFox now supports FLAC Natively

I guess one could say that being less popular is probably a good thing with browsers in some ways.

yeah, that makes sense in terms of security.

I also like QupZilla as a backup browser.
