This was not so trivial to find out. First you need a MIDI capable LFO. The tool I found is called MIDIshaper by CebleGuys ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]
$30).

Step 1: load a group into slot 1 of an empty group

Now route the MIDI signal via an IAC Driver bus: you need to have activated an IAC Driver in the MIDI section of your Mac, if like me you're at a loss on how to do that, follow these instructions: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]

Step 2: assign the MIDI input channel on your destination group in the input/output section of sound/slot 1

Step 3: load the MIDIshaper tool into the next free slot (or elsewhere) and sent up the MIDI routing both in the sound output section / MIDI and inside the modulation area of the MIDIshaper

Step 4: go back to your destination slot: you should now be able to select a CC channel under the MIDI learn section and assign it to any exposed MIDI learn capable parameter

Re: Modulate any parameter in Maschine with an LFO in 4 easy steps

Played around with this and it is really cool.

A few notes: you can assign different LFOs to different CC channels, but the MIDI learn function is quirky. You need to click a few times until you have assigned the right channel. This is somewhat frustrating. There is no pulldown for this and once you happen to pick another one already assigned, well then you need to go back to that one. It's like whack a mole, but in the end you do get it - if you're patient.

This modulation appears really, really heavy on CPU time, so keep that in mind.

The really annoying thing, though, is that it messes with the Arp recording function.

I need to play with it a bit more.
