Awesome video Mikey, thanks. Finally a really simple, good quality vocoder plugin. Works for me in Cubase 7 64 bit on Windows.

Re: How to make Daft Punk style vocals!

Tried this, but the plug in seemed to not function properly. Could be an OS X Mavericks thing perhaps? Anyone else experienced problems running this with Logic on OS X Mavericks?

Sad !

I'm going to bump this thread again. I have the same issue. I do exactly as described in the tutorial and get scratchy glitch and 0 effect.

Can I please ask OP what version of OS X he's running? I have a feeling this could be an operating system issue.

Thanks

Re: How to make Daft Punk style vocals!

wow, I used to have all those mda plugins. thank you for opening my mind up to this possibility. I never bothered to go through each of them because a few didn't sound that special. And I thought they looked so bland of Cubase. But It would be cool now having a vocoded sample in a production. now that I use Ableton and it makes my ideas run wild.

Re: How to make Daft Punk style vocals!

Quick tip, if you want to make your vocals bassy too (like robot bassy), make an FM bass, resample it, cut the highs and add some form of LoFi effect. Then use a filter to control the movement of the bass to match the voice.

I had a friend once who actually used the original voice and vocoded it while sidechaining to the instrument leading the melody of the voice, this allowed the voice and the bass to mix. Then he reduced the mix of the vocals to allow the bass to have more presence and transposed it with the original "chord" vocoded vocals.

Idk, just an idea if you wanna do like a scary song that has this effect. Plus you can even end up using the voice in your drop as a bass or something :3
