Icon14 [Electro Analog Pop] lucky one - When you touch me

Hi all,

I offered myself a new hardware for Christmas, A Dreadbox Nyx, a new analog synth that perfectly complement my good old Moog Slim Phatty. As usually when I have a new gear, it makes me write a few songs. Here is a first one, I just love how they sing together in the Chorus (starting at 2'45")

Tell me what you think, do you have ideas to improve the composition, arrangement, and mix???

Thanks!

Luc

Re: [Electro Analog Pop] lucky one - When you touch me

Lead and a few of the synths seem at least 2-4 db too loud to me, washing out all the background sounds. I think when this is fixed, the whole track will feel more cohesive

I liked that some of the melodies had that "Arabian Nights" feel, but I didn't always like the straight bass pattern: bomf bomf bomf bomf bomf bomf bomf bomf (not sure if you know what I mean). The transition at 3:20 didn't really make sense to me.

The hardware make some nice sounds though, but I think what I liked the most was the vocals.

Good tune, liked the lead riff. As above, mixing needs some attention. Vocals a touch quiet. I liked the bass line but it could use some variation e.g. perhaps fading in a second bomf slightly quieter on the backbeat in places might be quite nice as leads up to a change.

Despite these minor things, enjoyed listening, cheers for sharing

Awesome, many thanks for your valuable feedback Indigo and Roo Stercogburn!

I tried to address all your comments and I updated the track with a new version.

I worked the mix of the lead synth sounds and vocals, tried to make the bass less straight by adding variations, changed the transition at 3:20 and many other small fixes. Overall I think the track greatly benefit from all these changes. At least I hope so!

Cheers,

Luc
