VSTs on the go!

Alright folks I don't know how to name this thread and this kinda related to a Pro Tools one I did recently but is a different topic itself, just hear me out.

I'm on the go constantly at school but sometimes have a lot of breaks. I have access to a ton of computers and gear and today I purchased an Akai MPK Mini.
I need someone to direct me to a piece of software (DAW seems like too strong of a word) that will let me open up any VST and play it. Piano roll is optional, I don't mind recording straight to audio.
I found a 'VST' called Ugly VST or something like that. It let me open some VSTs but others kinda fucked it up so this is why I have turned to you guys.

Thanks a lot!!

Yeah, I've got the LPK Mini and I use it with Live or Maschine all the time. Great on the train.

Re: VSTs on the go!

Unfortunately all my laptops bombed on me so I can only use computers at school or a friend's. Luckily Reaper is really small compared to all the DAWs we know of.
Is there any way to use the Akai MPK Mini or any other MIDI keyboard without a computer? This is probably a stupid question.. I'm just wondering if there is any hardware that would let it generate sound and can be plugged in via USB.
