Re: Rise/ transition effects

I just drop an operator in (in ableton live) and set all four oscs parallel wiht the waveform set to noise

other than maybe a bit of track reverb to smooth it out if i want to I usually just use all the built in filter and etc. to create dynamic movement.

Depending on what i'm making and how full the spectrum is, i might cut lows or certain ranges, and i might mix in other oscs or sounds alongside it.

I also often have a single audio strip just with samples of crash hits right on it. I usually put that in towards the end of a composition so basically after it's arranged and all I go thought and manually place and edit cymbal hits on the timeline. I think of this as a companion to my noise track and sometimes i'll sidechain it to the noise so that if a cymbal hits with all that hi freq going on, it won't fight the noise at much.
