I recently (about a month ago) got into dark ambient after a friend showed me Lustmord. Im really fascinated by the atmosphere that can be created during a dark ambient piece and would love to hear more.
There's a few thing I can raccomend:
- Any Brighter Death Now'
- Megaptera "The Curse of the Scarecrow"
or the Death-Industrial/Black Ambient band I play with, Satanismo Calibro 9, here is a promo from a previous cassette:
we have CD out now on Old Europa Cafe called Orgasmurder...
check out sunn o))) its more like drone/doom metal, but its really really low pitched and not painfully boring like a few of the other artists ive found that led me away from the genre
I don't really see how a dark ambient song could be boring... Not exactly interesting but nothing to get bored over. You kind of have to be in the right mood, and actually focusing on the music is not really necessary.
I think the best ambient music is music you can enjoy without paying attention to.
blood box - the iron dream
atrium carceri - ptahil
deathprod
hybryds - dreamscapes from a dark side
the mount fuji doomjazz ensemble - doomjazz future corpses
I think the best ambient music is music you can enjoy without paying attention to.
Agree, but there's another type of music which get's lumped in with 'ambient', which is generally beatless, but which demands attention. It's very 'foreground' music, not 'background' at all.
