That Underground Sound, Deep and Tech

Any artists on here produce in that style? Favorite labels? I'm really starting to get into the classic house sound as well as tech influences and I'm trying to expand my dj library/ Influences/ just trying to hear some good tunes! No one I know in my area really cares about house or even mainstream techno its all like ravers listening to skrillex, aoki, deadmau5 and all that stuff. I cant really show people music cause they dont even give it a chance, and I got way burnt out on their shit like a few years ago. Anyway before I get way too off topic...Help me out here!!!

Re: That Underground Sound, Deep and Tech

I am mainly a deep & soulfull house producer / dj, with a bit techy edge. I also love classic house and nu disco. But i know what you feel, here it is the same, everybody loves or popular radio music, or dutch house, or skrillex type. No love for deep
Altough in hungary the bigest musical genre is the minimal/tech now.

What are your favorite tracks?

Re: That Underground Sound, Deep and Tech

I am a huge fan of deep / tech house. I get most of my fix from DI.fm (which is on itunes radio). Usually the Tech House and Minimal stations play that best stuff if youre looking for deep. My friends are confused I'm not in love with skrillex / deadmau5, when really deep is where its at. 8).

If you want to delve into classic house, check out back catalogs for Strictly Rhythm and Cajual Records. Two of my favorite labels for House music in the 90s.

Re: That Underground Sound, Deep and Tech

We are a tech/progressive label. We love the underground sound. Tech music is for forward thinking people. The reason why Skrillex, Aoki, Etc... are so big is because they appeal to the younger uneducated generation who don't understand the music. All they want is Harder & Louder. I understand this because I was one of those kids when I grew up. With age you start to understand and listen more into the music. Listen to Sasha, Digweed, James Zebiela, Satoshi Tomiie and others like them. They are truly artists in their own right.

Check out some of our music on our label also HERE

Re: That Underground Sound, Deep and Tech

I've really only been doing edm since 06-07 but my tastes have changed immensely lately. I get down to mostly deep and tech house now. For deep house dogglounge is where i get my fix and for techhouse, probably R_CO's sound cloud page.

I've been too shy to post any of my tunes on here for a while but i think ill start again. Lately I've been trying for the deep classic house sound.

Great YouTube links on here btw. That huxley remix was awesome

Let me hear them! I love tech/ deep house but there is no scene for it where I am from so I dont have much exposure to it.

damn, really? rock on Hungary. Its really a shame that minimal stuff doesnt get more love. I feel like people here it in the club, love it, and then promptly forget about it the next day. I guess thats why its minimal...

Re: That Underground Sound, Deep and Tech

Yeah, that kind of thing has been my shit since the 90's. There's so much good music out there like that now. I'm really lucky to be in an area where that is still the dominant style.

No specific labels to point out--there are so many, but I'll share some mixes off soundcloud that I have on regular rotation:

Try i records, Tsuba (My personal favourite) Lost my dog, static, Gruuv, Freerange recordings, Neurotraxx deluxe, One records(Subb-ans record label) Lower east, Brise Records.

All searchable on beatport!

Artists such as 95 North, Fish go deep, Chris Lattner, Grant Nelsen (Old stuff) Justin Drake, kerri Chandler, Wadsworth (My favourtite artist at the moment) Jordan Peak. All pioneering the early 90's sound... cant go wrong with that list!
