Re: Artists like Burial?
Try "Opti". Very atmospheric. Same hawling voices on the background as burial, but the bassline is much more thicker. Realy nice stuff

Re: Artists like Burial?
I liked burial for his cool, intricate beats and deep bass. cern (some of his stuff) and gantz give me the same satisfaction.
cern:
-terminus
-raven row
gantz:
-no faith
-catalyst

Well, this one time, I was standing out in the rain while whacking some utensils together.
That sounded like Burial.

Re: Artists like Burial?
Anyone heard "Unknown Artist"?
Alot of rumors were spreading around forums when he first came on the scene about his identity. His sound is clearly 100% modelled on Burial. It doesn't have the same level of depth but has a pretty decent vibe nonetheless

Re: Artists like Burial?
"Stiver" makes similar garage and techno as burial but always have an own vibe.
He's from Istanbul and also makes tracks with "Gantz" who I would also recommend.

Re: Artists like Burial?
Yeah Stiver and Gantz are dope, both together and apart. The track 'rough visions' they do together is genius, great music vid on youtube too. I even think I prefer them to burial now. Also Ghostek (easy changes is a good one), and VVV (unknown region).

Re: Artists like Burial?
Yes, Ghostek is also an similar artist, even though he's now making more these harder techno sounds (which I also really like). I would recommend the "Leaving For The City Of Saints EP" on the Label "Other Heights".

Re: Artists like Burial?
VVV in my opinion is the closest artist to crack into that perfect Burial vibe.
here's my favorite tune of his; reminds me a lot of Burial while keeping his own style:

volox flex is the closest thing, he admits that burial is a big influence
but there is no replacement for burial

Re: Artists like Burial?
It's only one tune that hits the same emotional spot as Burial by one artist, but check out Distance - Delight on YouTube. Possibly my favourite ever dubstep track.

Nocow's Ruins Tape sounds burialesque, although a bit more straight forward on most of it
