Alternative Dubstep

I got this idea from the drum and bass section, I think we should have a go-to thread where there's no over the top filth wobble commercial step business, somewhere to relax amid subs and sexy synths. I hope this will catch on because looking through the threads dubstep appears poorly repped so allow me to kick this off and feel free to join in

Martyn . . . . need I say more

Gemmy, a contender for the "Bristols finest" crown

My favourite from TRG

Apple Pips are an amazing label, check them out

My favourite dubstep video of all time bar none

Please feel free to add more, remember nothing too offensive, if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy then embed that badboy

Nice one for mentioning L-Wiz, this is my personal favourite from L-Wiz. Well worth tracking down the vinyl.

Also, check out the show on Sub Fm on Sunday afternoons, proper Sunday vibes.

Haha yeh man no worries, or maybe add one or two you've found yourself too.

Kingldub you're like my long lost twin or something man we have shockingly similar taste, L-Wiz is wicked and I'm definitely checking his show out, call myself a fan and didn't know he did a show hahaha! When I get a next job I'm definitely getting my act together and purchasing decks, been putting it off for years man, might get the one though because I'm terrible at mixing

You might have seen this before but it's heavier than lead so I'm posting it....

I think the sorrect term for this is "oldie but a goodie"

Re: Alternative Dubstep

Highland Spring is a wicked tune, don't know why it's escaped me til now so thanks for that vakyoomluigi.

My mate showed me this tune, Hyetal - Gold or Soul

This one's heavy too, Duncan's made some amazing garage tracks, and this one's got the same garage flavour in a dubstep tune. Flawless

That's it for now guys and girls, I'll put some more up later when I have time.

Re: Alternative Dubstep

a bit off topic i know, so sorry for this but would anyone have any pointers on where to find vocals that would suit this type of sound? producing something in a similar vein at the moment, and I'm looking for some vocal snippets that would work well as a hook. same kind of vocals you find in burials stuff really.
I know i'll have to process the crap out of it to get it sounding the way i want, but any help finding the right vocal to start with, would be appreciated

loving the thread btw

Trust me Kingldub to the rescuuuuuue! Those Kito tunes are mint mate cheers for the link

Loving the tunes in this thread guys we're doing well, the Martyn remix of Roberta Flack is wicked too, I'm sure I've heard it before but don't know why it wasn't in my faves.

I've only just clocked onto Clouds, some deep tunes by him/them, definitely worth a little listen

This one's kind of mad, like if dubstep, glitch and garage adopted a child with ADD and raised it on a diet of madness and neglect, then it grew up and started making music, this would be the music

This one's old but still gold imo, Sizzla on dubstep is a perfect combo

If you still haven't heard this one, I'm not sure where you've been but I never want to go there
If Zapp and Roger made dubstep I think they'd do it like this

Enjoy
