I'm looking to buy an SLR today, something in the realm of 700$.
Anything you would recommend?
it's the CANON IXUS 860IS, I wanted a small one i could carry with me all the time...
Just bought it the week before going to South America.
The good thing is that it's a wide angle camera, and it's one of the very few models of that size with a wide angle. That's one of the reasons I bought it (don't get mistaken though, the picture of the glacier is a panoramic, it's not that wide )
Cost me around 417€ with a second battery, a 4gb card, and a leather case.
I had a canon before too and I never been disapointed with it.
That's why I dond't even bother looking at other brands, might be stupid but there are so many and since I'm used to the canon options & stuff, I'm all for it. Plus they often (like this one) have lots of manual options/features, so you're not limited with presets or auto-modes... there's always something to learn.
Honestly, I love it!!
I've heard nothing but arguments against Canon's Rebel Xti, saying it's the worst of the SLRs they make, that core features have been removed, that it has poor macro settings and high distortion/noise rate at higher ISOs, and that it doesn't nearly have the output as some of the Sony or Nikon (D40) models at the same price have.
Care to try and push me otherwise? I want a Rebel, my wife wants a Rebel. We just need a reason to buy a Rebel.
well look the review of the canon EOS 400D n that site I gave you.
I think it's the first time I see a camera with a score of 9.6 for functionalities and 9.6 for Photography qualities (out of 10 obviously lol).
