I know this isn't normally the type of music posted here...(Hip-Hoppy stuff)

...but I'm trying to transition my sound from purely Hip-Hop to more of a Hip-Hop/Chillwave/Whateverit'scalled conglomeration. I figured this forum would be one of the better places to pick up some pointers (registered a year ago and just tonight made my 5th post)

I'm not really focused on the mixing aspect right now, but I'll gladly accept any and all feedback you have to offer.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Nice track. The sounds are good, but you seem to have some far too over-zealous ducking going on there. Also, reverb does indeed suit the track but there's too much of it and the tails are too long. Reducing the length would improve it, and possible filtering the low on of the reverb out too.

...But the long reverb kinda fits in with the mood of the music, atleast the reverb on the drums.

But i don't really like hip hop, so i might be totaly wrong

Agreed, I think there should still be lots of reverb, I just think there's too much and it's muddying the mix.

Sounds nice very good job. The only thing I would say is the ducking.

Re: I know this isn't normally the type of music posted here...

like the reverb adds to the washy nature of the track

ducking on the bass is a little bit too much though - just reduce it

Re: I know this isn't normally the type of music posted here...

i say keep the reverb on the drop sounds..the percussion..but drop it on the drums or only use it as a automation effect. Great job! inspires me to do a hiphop track.

Thanks everyone!

I'm definitely gonna go back and try to improve the bass on this track.
