DJ + Live Musicians

Does anyone know of any cool collaborations between DJ's and great performing musicians in a live setting? I am specifically interested in guitar players who play live with DJ's. It seems like a crowd would really appreciate this and I just don't see it happen very often.

Re: DJ + Live Musicians

It doesn't happen very often because the audiences of great guitar players couldn't stand a DJ set.

That's not necessarily true and doesn't answer my question.

Re: DJ + Live Musicians

I think that could be a cool thing to throw into your live set. During one of the breaks just bust out a guitar and start shreddin'.

The hardest part would be making sure your guitar sounds good live! A lot of people, even professionals, fail hard at getting good live sound. That's one of the cool things about being an electronic musician, shit sounds great live.

It could be done though. I think it could work. But I think it would work best as just a short part of the show, and I wouldn't even bother with it if you were thinking about like having a rhythm guitar strum along, it just won't sound that great. It would have to be like a live solo or something.

(edit: sorry i didn't see the date on this. i just assumed the threads at the bottom were still relevant. my bad! ;D)

Re: DJ + Live Musicians

Cool. I saw Tiesto throw in a live guitarist during a show and it was definitely cool. It was like a 15 min thing.

No worries this is still relevant to me!
