Traktor and Bass Harmonics?

I bought Traktor Pro 2 about a month ago. I had been using a demo of Traktor pro for awhile but I never had this problem. When I am playing songs with heavy basslines, they get modulated somehow. It sounds as if there are extra harmonics on the bass in a way, as if it was bused through decimator distortion. Is there some strange setting that is a problem here. I have no fx activated and im really curious what is going on here.

Re: Traktor and Bass Harmonics?

Sounds like clipping to me.

Turn it down a bit.

EDIT: and is it only ever in traktor? your speakers or amp/interface/what have you is not dying or anything liek that?

Re: Traktor and Bass Harmonics?

Yeah I knew it wasn't clipping because the problem isn't heard in itunes or logic or anywhere else where I could play music. It has something to do with Traktor because it really gets exacerbated when something is synced. Also, I've cut the main volume of traktor by 3 dbs as a precaution but it made no difference.

Re: Traktor and Bass Harmonics?

HMMM, curious. I'd double check to make sure that there are no funny warping options set, stuff like that, maybe initialize or reinstall Traktor entirely. although that's kind of a pain, so maybe wait and see if anyone else has any suggestions.

maybe check buffer size...? it can cause stuff a bit like what you're describing...
