They have changed about 30% of the original code. The improvements include better audio conversion, support for higher samle rates and a new GUI. The
The previously commercial ensemble packs Electronic instruments 1 and 2 will also be included in the free update, very cool because they are currently not for sale anymore and thus impossible to get hold of legally.
This is great news and a hint that we might live to see Reaktor 6. Hope it wont take another 5 years though.
Just opened this on my system for the first time about ten minutes ago. Love the new interface, but mostly I love being able to load .ens as .ins files. Been waiting for that one for what feels like my whole life.
Well it's out of Beta now, users of Reaktor 5 can update for free or people new to Komplete/Reaktor get it at no charge.
It's a really stellar update. They've taken care of so many little things that were issues during sessions I had; automation, GUI, browsing for ensembles or components, local saving issues for sessions. It's really one of those rare 'refinement' updates that are completely done for the fans by a company that obviously cares about it's community enough.
Nothing but good things to say about 5.5, you should get it immediately if you can.
Yes! 64 bit Reaktor at last. That's basically me booting into Logic as a 64 bit app from now on. I hate that 32 bit bridge with a vengeance, and reaktor is the tipping point for me. I can live without the handful of plugs I have left that are still 32 bit only as long as Reaktor can open without the bridge. I've got to admit, I was expecting a much longer wait...
