Icon5 Bands offering multi-tracks for remixes just like NIN?

So I really got into this remixing biz recently, downloaded most of NIN's multi-tracks from their website and made a good deal of demos for an upcoming remix project. Since I don't want to limit myself to just one band only I was wondering - are there other bands that released (free & freely available) multi-tracks/stems for them peepz to remix in ways unimaginable?

NINRemixes.com offers Nine Inch Nails, How to Destroy Angels and Jane's Addiction + a bunch of others, but that's just not enough. As far as I recall Devin Townsend made stems of "Juular" and some other song available, but that was on a deluxe version of "Contain Us", so I'm not interested in that.

Any recommendations?

I'm not aware of any particular bands but 'converse sample library' consists of people sharing their stems with the public. Maybe you can find something that interests you there - conversesamplelibrary(dot)com - below 30 posts can't put links up.

Maybe do a search for "remix contest".

Re: Bands offering multi-tracks for remixes just like NIN?

@candlesayshi here was offering up stems of the tracks from one of his albums a while back, not sure he would still be up for something like that tho now.
Plus there's that project that seems to have died down that was all about that, people on the forum remixing the stems from other members, I forget what it was called.

Re: Bands offering multi-tracks for remixes just like NIN?

Have you tried contacting any artists? There's usually someone who can point you in the right direction when it comes to remixing / covering tracks.

Most of this stuff probably isn't legal to just throw all over the internet, so it's not weird if your search is turning up kind of empty. Even artists who release stems as a deluxe package charge quite a bit for them.

Find a record store that sells old DJ vinyls. Its quite easy to find promo vinyls from the 80s and 90s with acapella and instrumental tracks as well as alternate mixes. If you are really hardup, check ebay and youtube.

Mogwai did it with "Hunted by a Freak" from "Happy Songs for Happy People."

Those nin stems were awesome eh? It was so good to see how individual sounds were placed. Helped me learn a lot.
