So i have this problem. I don't know if it's what they are supposed to do, that's why i'm asking.
Monitors: Fostex pm0.4d
When my laptop is plugged in the charger, my monitors make a buzzing sound.
When my laptop works on battery, my monitors are just fine.
Now is it something i should be worried about?

It's a laptop grounding problem. I used to have the same issue with my firewire sound card and my Dell laptop. I got rid of it by buying a PCMCIA adapter. Other people recommend just using a two prong adapter on your laptop power cord. If those two fixes don't work, there are more nasty esoteric fixes out there.

it's fairly common for some house wiring to be incorrectly grounded. sometimes the ground isn't there, other times the hot and cold prongs are reversed. try plugging your laptop or monitors or both into a different outlet entirely. also try turning off your air conditioning to see if that's the cause of the electrical noise. it might be corrupting the grounding levels of your room.

I don't know anything about this topic, but I've always been able to solve the problem with ^.

I've also had a window unit taint my stereo mix, even though my understanding of how that's even possible is limited.
