Another one of my specialty simple, loopy and dark space out tracks. Some nice synth sounds I think. Used Tal Noise Maker and that free Tyrell synth. Really liked the solo synth line at the end. Some odd clicky artifacts for some reason. The sample sound is a bit from Genesis live.
Even though the whole track is well produced and each sound has enough room to be heard, I wasn't thrilled by the start. But when the drums kicked it was completely different, just great flow going on with rich sound. So all in all good production, but if I had a say I would want to hear a 4min long track of a drum part version.
I keep my tracks short because my drums are pretty minimal. The intro was as is because I just really liked that loop slowly sweeping with the filter. Could be missing some flourishes and add on effects though.
Glad you mentioned the production sound. I think I spend more on that then working on more interesting composition.
I enjoyed the ambiance very much, everything sounds good to me. If I had to propose one change, it would probably be a tad more reverb on the snare to make even more spacious in accordance to the drone, so that it's not as dry.
The kind of analog-ish drone texture in the background is amazing. This one goes fucking deep, man. Love that high freq, pitched synth. Really epic. I imagine the movie scene this belongs to is some kind of super sexy or super sad moment. I'll go with sexy. Dark n sexy.
Really nice track!
Sb pointed that long reverb on snare drum is a good idea - I also think that snare drum is a bit too dry for my taste and adding reverb would help. I would also lower the volume of snare drum a little.
I mean to go back to remix that snare. It sounds good in my car, a bit too loud with the monitors and ok with headphones. It's weird to do so once so many have listened in. Once I upload it. It's hard to go back. Restraint I guess.
Thanks. All in all it sounds way too harsh to me now after some time listening. It's hard to get the motivation to go back and remix everything though. It needs to be softer I think. It would be hard to go back and start replacing sounds to get what I think would be better without loosing the initial feel of the track.
