Audio Editors

Can anyone here recommend standalone software for sample editing? I normally use audacity or reaper, but audacity doesn't have a good snap grid for tempo, and I can't use reaper with my main daw open.

Re: Audio Editors

What are you trying to accomplish that you can't do in your DAW? It looks like you use both FL and Live, that should cover quite a lot of ground TBH

Re: Audio Editors

also you can use reaper with in flstudio via rewire

1) In FLS, add a rewired, select REAPER as the client and hit show panel
2) Go back to FLS and in the rewired panel select the MIDI Options
3) Pick a port and click on Add One
4) Create a few instrument tracks in Reaper
5) Here's the important part. Set the instrument tracks midi input from All MIDI to a single channel of the Rewire bus 1
6) Create a Midi Out Channel in FLS with the port of step 3 and the channel of step 5.

Re: Audio Editors

Audacity.

Use sampler with time stretch functionality. Kontakt does a fine job.

Techno starts with a capital 'T', as in TB-303 and TR-808.

This is an idea I never thought of. I'll have to check it out! Thanks!

Re: Audio Editors

I use Audition for audio editing. Has just about every feature you need from timecode sync, tempo based grids & snapping, really powerful batching, looping etc...

It was the best audio editor when it was Cool Edit Pro, and it's still awesome now.
