Audio Editors

Can anyone here recommend standalone software for sample editing? I normally use audacity or reaper, but audacity doesn't have a good snap grid for tempo, and I can't use reaper with my main daw open.

What are you trying to accomplish that you can't do in your DAW? It looks like you use both FL and Live, that should cover quite a lot of ground TBH

also you can use reaper with in flstudio via rewire

1) In FLS, add a rewired, select REAPER as the client and hit show panel
2) Go back to FLS and in the rewired panel select the MIDI Options
3) Pick a port and click on Add One
4) Create a few instrument tracks in Reaper
5) Here's the important part. Set the instrument tracks midi input from All MIDI to a single channel of the Rewire bus 1
6) Create a Midi Out Channel in FLS with the port of step 3 and the channel of step 5.

Audacity.

Use sampler with time stretch functionality. Kontakt does a fine job.

This is an idea I never thought of. I'll have to check it out! Thanks!

I use Audition for audio editing. Has just about every feature you need from timecode sync, tempo based grids & snapping, really powerful batching, looping etc...

It was the best audio editor when it was Cool Edit Pro, and it's still awesome now.
