The start of this made me think of the late, great, Edgar Froese and Tangerine Dream..but after the intro that thought faded from my mind, as the track opened up and took on a life and current style of it's own.
If I really had to find a fault with this piece, then it would be the ending..it feels like you ran out of steam and just lobbed it off there to finish it..kinda like you ran out of inspiration or something..maybe a little more of a "stylish" ending, one with a little more thought would have been nice..and a fitting and satisfying end to an otherwise great track.
I don't say this too often here in the Listening Booth, but there are time when I hear a track and it makes me just a little bit green with envy, usually because the track in question demonstrates or shows a certain level of production skills and raw talent that I guess we all wish we had or could have 100% of the time..and this track has that..to my mind, at least. As I listened, it made me wish I could do what you've done here, which I can..but maybe not as consistently as I would like all of the time.
It's a hard thing to quantify, but I know most people who make music will get what I mean..it's something about everything..each part of this project..not just the finished track..but the mindset going into it, that results in taking certain steps and making certain decisions along the way that results in a piece of music like this. Like I touched on before, if it wasn't for the ending, then this track would really shine.
Thanks for sharing and inspiring me today to get down to work and try to do better..to push things a little more beyond my current comfort zone. Much appreciated.
