Re: Listening suggestions

most of that perm isn't really industrial or noise.

Lots of IDM/Breakcore/Dubstep with some industrial leanings for sure.

I meet Doormouse at last years Laptop battle in Seattle, pretty odd fellow. Keeps to himself mostly. I think he had Jet lag/over smoked..but I could be wrong on the over smoked.

His fucking ripped and just opened a gym. I think hes going for the most Buff Breakcore artist in the world.

His idea of a six pack and Otto's are completely different.

I really like Unter Null. Not the heaviest in the world but I dig it. Also Grendel

Re: Listening suggestions

grendel is the fake german band! Fun stuff.

Nic Endo would also be a good recommendation.

Re: Listening suggestions

I don't like Unter Null. I can imagine how it went down at Alfa Matrix...

"What do we have here?"
"Another one of those generic harsh EBM acts."
"I'm liking where this is going."
"It's a girl this time."
"Sell it! Who needs original music anyway?"

Grendel is... ok. Still another band doing the same exact thing as 20 other bands though.

Is originality forbidden in the EBM and club world now?

Re: Listening suggestions

duh.

If you sound original then you must be untalented and unmarketable.

It is sarcasm, not directed at you candle. EBM prohibits originality like most major genres do.

Which is sad because there are some real gems in that genre.

Re: Listening suggestions

bumping for new members....

Also, everyone check out Totakeke. I just got his album eLektota: The Other Side of the Tracks, and it is just fucking stellar. Everyone keeps saying that it's one of the best industrial albums in years and in time to come will be a definitive album of the genre that will be referenced and referred to in the future. I completely agree.

Re: Listening suggestions

Meh. This thread is now a happy fun little sticky.

So, feel free to go nuts in it and scream OMG! CHECK OUT THIS BAND!!!!

But don't use it to spam your own band unless you have a very very good reason. If I see it happen, or you try to promote releases in this thread instead of the releases section, I will delete it and anything anyone says that references it.

That is all.

Other than that. Go nuts.

Re: Listening suggestions

Try PLASTIC NOISE EXPERIENCE, legendary German band from the early '90s. They reappeared several of years ago with really good album, Maschinenmusik. Pretty cliche name for a pretty solid album.
